Magix Face Perfector by Avon

I've wanted to try this product for so long, but for some or other reason I've bought it and it was left in the cupboard, until recently, when I wanted to impress somebody somewhat. Out came my Magix Face Perfector, and my oh my, what an amazing product this is. It really does what it says, prime the skin to near perfection. I've tried a couple of these products before, by different brands. That could be the reason for me having waited so long to try Avon's product. I never felt the need to sing any of those products' praises. Avon's Magix have a built in SPF 20. If you don't like the feel of a lot of creams on your face, this product on it's own will do just fine. It protects against the harmful rays of the sun, as well as giving enough moisture without feeling heavy. It feels luxurious and smooth and foundation glides on. My pores were less noticeable. I normally wear two layers of foundation, especially when I have heavy outbreaks on my skin, but with this product one layer was enough. WOW Nail Polish

In December I bought myself a nail polish manufactured by this company and what a pleasant surprise. I tried WOW because the prices of nail enamels shot through the roof. Even Charlie nail enamels now cost R54.95! Being one of those people who changes nail enamel every second day (I can’t stand chipped nail polish) I am NOT going to fork out that much money for it.
WOW cost R22.00 rand a bottle. Although you have to apply almost three coats of polish to get a decent, solid look, it is still worth it. It dries quickly and despite it’s price, it doesn’t chip off the very next day. I was able to wear it a second day without touching up or having to remove it.
WOW is not tested on animals. It is available from The Perfume Gallery. Worth a try.

Avon Night Gold Emulsion

In a previous post I quickly mentioned this particular product but after having used it for a while, I feel it needed a post of it’s own. So, here goes.
Night Gold Emulsion is a product in the Anew 45+. Due to having adored the sun when I was younger, I have to admit that sun damage is a thing that I consider when buying a product. I also consider whether or not the product may be able to halt the effects of sun damage. Therefore I decided to give this product a chance. My mother, who can never really find a product which gives her enough moisture, was highly impressed with it as well.
So, let’s start. I have a skin which scars easily. Unfortunately, I am one of those people dermatologists hate because I can not keep my fingers out of my pimples. The effects are normally disastrous since I end up with purple marks on my face.
A few months ago, I had the worst problems with my skin you can imagine. I got really ugly zits behind my ears and all around my jaw line. I was frantically searching the internet, which in the end only confirmed what I already knew, stress.
While having this problem, I was using the Gold Emulsion, and the zits cleared up so much faster than it normally would have, it also heals the wounds faster than if it was just left to heal by itself. I was left with no scars once the problem cleared up.
So, Gold Emulsion is something I will never be without again. It is a little pricy when not on special, but wait until it is, and buy yourself a pot of this cream/gel. It lasts for approximately three months, so you won’t run out before it goes on special again.
A word of advice though: I normally slather a lot of cream on my face, I know, it won’t make a difference;) But with Gold Emulsion you can only use a tiny amount, because it easily burns your skin if you use too much. With this product I can really say: Less is more!

Beauty without Cruelty

So you are allowed to call me ignorant, but I have never really given this one much thought…ever. It is the year 2011, so it is easy to assume that beauty products are not tested on animals anymore. I believed that beauty companies should know by now which ingredients would be bad for human skin, and which of them would do no harm. I also believed that even if they wanted to test new beauty products with different combinations of products, there would be woman who would be willing to test the products for them. But I have to say, I was very very wrong.
It saddens me to say that there are still various companies testing their products on animals. Most shocking is the fact that some large companies are still guilty of doing so.
I believe this is something that every woman should give some thought before buying a beauty product. If all of us start boycotting these companies, and they start feeling it in their revenue, then maybe we will achieve the desired effect.
In the meantime, I will not be doing any reviews on companies which test their products on animals. Whether it be the product itself, or the ingredients used in creating the product.
